Starting today, Audacy’s 200+ radio stations will be available on the iHeartRadio app.
Joining iHeartMedia’s local stations on the platform in Chicago are sports talker 670 The Score (WSCR-AM), Newsradio 105.9 FM (WBBM-AM 780/WCFS-FM 105.9), Adult Album Alternative 93XRT (WXRT-FM), Top 40/CHR B96 (WBBM-FM), Country US99 (WUSN-FM), and Classic R&B/Hip-Hop 104.3 Jams (WBMX-FM).
Other Audacy stations and brands on the app include all-sports WFAN New York, alternative KROQ Los Angeles, all-news KCBS San Francisco, and news/talk KMOX St. Louis. Other Audacy content, including podcasts, is also being made available in the iHeart app.
“This is an exciting day for our industry as the addition of Audacy’s stations to iHeartRadio maximizes radio’s presence across the country as the most listened to and trusted medium for audiences and consumers,” said Michael Biondo, who is President of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships at iHeartMedia. “This move gives our listeners even more opportunities to connect with the stations and content most relevant to them, aligning with our mission to always meet our audiences where they are and enhance their experience.”
“We believe in the power of being everywhere, and this partnership is a meaningful step in our strategy to ensure our iconic stations, talent, and programming are available wherever and however audio is consumed,” added Chris Oliviero, who is Chief Business Officer at Audacy.
Rival broadcasters on the iHeartRadio app aren’t new; Cumulus’ stations, including Q101 and WLS-AM/FM, have long been available; also available on the app are Nexstar’s news/talk WGN-AM; Chicago Public Media’s news/talk WBEZ-FM; Salem’s conservative talk WIND-AM; Good Karma Brands’ sports talker ESPN 1000 (WMVP-AM); Alpha Media’s suburban stations; Midway’s WVON-AM; the national feeds of Air 1 and K-Love; SBS’ WLEY-FM; and TelevisaUnivision’s Spanish-language stations WOJO-FM, WPPN-FM, and WVIV-FM. Other radio groups on the iHeartRadio platform include Midwest Communications and Cox Media Group.
Still not available on iHeartRadio are Hubbard’s local stations and Crawford’s Hip-Hop Power 92 and Adult R&B Soul 106.3 (Power 92 on iHeartRadio belongs to Cumulus’ Hip-Hop/R&B station KIPR-FM in Pine Bluff, Ark.)
The deal to integrate Audacy’s stations into the iHeartMedia app expands their reach to 500 additional platforms and over 2,000 devices. The iHeartMedia app is available on phones, tablets, devices such as Amazon Fire and Roku, video game consoles Xbox Series S and PS5, and smart televisions, including Samsung TVs. Audacy’s stations will continue to be available on its own app platform.
