The hottest sitcom on TV in 2006: "Mama’s Family"

It looks like Kansas City viewers aren’t the only ones who prefer repeats of the Vicki Lawrence sitcom over whatever is on that new network created by Fox — My something, or whatever it is. Mediaweek’s Marc Berman is watching them too, and why not? He prefers it and Growing Pains to most of the swill that passes off as […]

In 1987, KSDK had the number one network lineup, and didn’t want […]

Springer done with radio

TV talk show sleaze king Jerry Springer quits his radio show today, to pursue other opportunities. Surprisingly, his decision to exit radio and politics is not because of the Democrats’ winning Congress, or declining ratings, but because of his stint on Dancing With the Stars. Springer is eager to regain his pop-culture status he had in the late 1990’s, when […]

Avalanche of boobs

Robert Feder’s column in the Sun-Times this morning featured letters about yesterday’s column. But none of them was on Montel Willams DVD project, Upscale Chicago, or even Felicia Middlebrooks’ contract extension. It was the last item that trigged the outrage — a one sentence mention about WFLD-TV morning show anchor Tamron Hall breast implants. Here comes the Avalanche of hate […]
