Tim Virgin heads to The Drive
Will continue to appear on KSHE St. Louis
Veteran Chicago radio personality Tim Virgin is returning to town as the new afternoon host of Hubbard Broadcasting’s The Drive, aka WDRV-FM, starting today where he will host weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m.
“A few months away was long enough to remind me exactly where I belong – on a legendary station in the city I love, talking about the music that raised me – Rock!” Virgin said in a press release. “Huge thanks to Keith Hastings, Keith Lawless, and Greg Strassell for bringing me on board. Chicago, let’s get loud!”
A veteran of WLS-FM, WKQX-FM (Q101), and the former WLUP, Virgin will continue as host in the afternoon drive at Hubbard’s sister station, KSHE-FM, in St. Louis. In March, Virgin departed WLS-FM for St. Louis.
“Tim is a multi-talented personality who will bring tremendous value to Driver Nation, our advertisers, and the community.” said Hastings, who is WDRV’s brand and content director.
Before arriving in Chicago, Virgin worked for stations in New York City, San Diego, St. Louis, Phoenix, and Annapolis, Md.
With Virgin’s arrival, current afternoon personality Janda Lane is shifting back to middays.
The Drive is one of Chicago’s most listened to music stations, regularly ranking in the top five overall and among adults 25-54. In October, The Drive tied for fourth with Audacy’s US99 in overall ratings, while also finishing fourth in the 25-54 demographic, falling from the first-place position it held in September.
