670 The Score names Leila Rahimi permanent co-host with Marshall Harris

Executive producer Shane Riodrian exits

As first reported by The Chicago Sun-Times on Monday, 670 The Score’s Leila Rahimi has been promoted to full-time co-host alongside Marshall Harris, with the midday show now known as Rahimi and Harris. She succeeds Dan Bernstein in the role, who was fired from the Audacy-owned station last month after he tried to dox a user on social media.

The revamped show also gets a new time slot, now airing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“I’ve been happy to be a part of The Score team regularly since late 2020, and I’m very excited to add a new chapter hosting the midday show in this role,” said Rahimi in a statement. “The support The Score listeners have shown over the years has meant the world to me, and I’m looking forward to spending more time with them every day from ten to two o’clock.”

It’s quite the career feat for Rahimi. After joining 670 The Score as a contributor in 2017, Rahimi was promoted full-time in January 2021 as Bernstein’s co-host until March 2022, when she returned to NBC 5 as a full-time sports anchor and cut back to appearing on 670 The Score only once a week (later twice a week). Rahimi exited WMAQ-TV last year for unknown reasons, with speculation centered on cuts at parent NBCUniversal.

“We’re committed to having top-tier hosts who are respected by local teams and can connect with our listeners through thoughtful and engaging opinions,” said WSCR VP/Sports Programming head Mitch Rosen. “Leila is one of the hardest-working teammates at The Score and her knowledge of Chicago sports has made her a beloved voice among the city’s fans. We’re thrilled to elevate her into this role and launch this new midday show alongside Marshall Harris.”

A Denton, Tex. native, Rahimi arrived in Chicago a decade ago, joining the now-defunct Comcast SportsNet/NBC Sports Chicago, where she hosted pre- and post-game shows until her exit in 2020 due to layoffs at NBCUniversal. Before her time in Chicago, Rahimi was employed at the now-defunct RSNs Fox Sports Southwest, Fox Sports San Diego, CSN Houston, and CSN Philadelphia (now NBC Sports Philadelphia), where she worked with Harris. She also had a stint at MLB Network. Rahimi was named Illinois Sportscaster Of The Year in 2022.

On the same day, producer Shane Riodian exited the station after nine years as he announced his departure on social media. Riodian was most recently executive producer of Matt Speigel’s and Laurence Holmes’ afternoon show, where his exit was mentioned briefly on Monday.

In the recent traditional ratings book, WSCR finished first in the key male 25-54 demo during middays and ranked first in the same demo overall. The March PPMs showed the station in 22nd place, but should improve now that the Cubs’ season is in full swing as the team is off to a hot start. Keep in mind that the PPM numbers are not used for advertising and sales purposes.
