Hubbard’s 101.9 The Mix and Throwbacks 100.3 names Chris Eagan as VP of Brand and Content
Fills vacant position left by Jimmy Steal
Hubbard’s two FM stations targeted to 25-54 female listeners have new leadership.
Chris Eagan was named VP of Brand and Content for Hot AC 101.9 The Mix (WTMX) and 90s/2000s pop hits Throwback 100.3 (WTBC-FM, formerly WSHE-FM).
Eagan arrives after spending sixteen years at Atlanta-based Cox Media Group, where he was Senior VP of Audience and Programming, responsible for 54 stations in eleven markets. Beforehand, Eagan oversaw on-air content and programming for Cox’s radio cluster in Atlanta (Cox also owns dominant ABC affiliate WSB-TV in the city, one of the very few clusters outside of Univision with TV and radio stations in the same market.)
Eagan replaces the since-departed Jimmy Steal in the same role. Steal left Hubbard in July for a consultancy position in Los Angeles.
“I couldn’t be more honored to join the Hubbard Chicago Team”, said Eagan. “I look forward to creating top-tier content in one of the greatest cities in the world. Thanks to Keith Lawless, Ginny Hubbard, Dave Bestler, and Greg Strassell for this amazing opportunity.”
“I’ve had the opportunity and pleasure of working with Chris for years, [and] I am proud to work alongside him again as he joins our Hubbard Chicago leadership team and the brilliant content teams at Throwback and The Mix,” said Hubbard Chicago Market President Keith Lawless, who also oversees classic rocker The Drive. “I have every confidence that through Chris’s experience, knowledge, and leadership, Hubbard Chicago will reach new levels of success.”
Eagan begins on January 1.
During the last PPM ratings report, WTMX ranked ninth and Throwbacks 100.3 ranked 23rd.
