One of two promotions announced Friday
Current 670 The Score (WSCR-AM) program director Mitch Rosen was named Vice-President and Brand Manager of the Audacy-owned sports talk station on Friday.
Replacing Rosen in his previous role is Ryan Porth, who was Assistant Brand Manager. Porth, who arrived to 670 The Score from a sports talk station in Nashville in January 2022, is now taking over day-to-day operations of WSCR and will report directly to Rosen, who maintains his position as Vice President of BetQLNetwork.
“Mitch Rosen is The Score and has led his team for nearly two decades of unprecedented success,” said Greg Solk, who is vice president of programming and operations of Audacy Chicago. “He has a keen eye for talent and has the deepest relationships in Chicago sports media. We are all excited about the future of The Score with Mitch leading the way.”
“The Score has meant so much to me and my family since the day I walked in February of 2005,” said Rosen in a statement. “It’s about the people that work so hard every day producing content for our audience and amazing partners. I’m thrilled to continue expanding the role with the Audacy team and grow The Score brand into the future!”
“The Score is a legendary brand in the most passionate sports city in the world,” said Porth, also in a statement. “I’m thrilled to get the opportunity to take the next step with Audacy Chicago and help a talented group we have assembled at The Score continue to grow in a constantly-evolving media landscape.”
The promotions come as 670 The Score has solidified itself in the ratings as the leading sports talk station in town ahead of rival ESPN 1000 (WMVP), owned by Good Karma Brands – and having Cubs and Bulls games doesn’t hurt. The latter however, is getting live Bears football games this fall.
